Mission: Mission One: A New Beginning...(Backstory)
Location: Command Center, Leah's Office Meeting Room

After the Staff Briefing her and Commander Zandusky stayed behind, she sent a message to Lieutenant Morgan to report to her office. She looked at Zandusky, "Thank you for agreeing to take on Executive Officer as well, don't normally do that but it would take too long for Starfleet to send a replacement, plus they recommended that I ask you." Leah replied, "Not sure if Sevlek had something to do with it." She shrugged as she waited for Naomi to arrive.

Alexander laughed, "I'm sure the admiral had something to do with it. He's been trying to get me to jump to the command track for a few years now."

Finally Naomi arrived, "You wanted to see me sir?" Naomi asked as she then noticed the Commander there as well. "Am I interupting I can wait outside sir," she said as she wasn't aware that Zandusky was in the meeting as well.

"No, he is in this meeting to." Leah replied as she offered her a seat.

She gave Naomi the report of their briefing who read it over, "Interesting," Naomi replied though it didn't surprise her any.

"Has there been any movement from the Eternal Lights?" Leah asked her knowing her abilities and what she can or can not sense and find out.

"So far I have not seen, felt or found anything unusual or them being on Hawkeye Island." Naomi replied in return. "Trust me I been keeping my eyes, ears and my senses open and scans as well sir." She replied.

Zandusky looked to the general, "I wouldn't rule out their working with the Typhon Pact. They want us both off of this planet pretty badly."

"That wouldn't surprise me," Naomi replied while Leah nodded. "Your probably wondering why Naomi doesn't wear her uniform. With her ability which is basically that of a Betazoid but stronger. She's only human, she was born with this rare ability which has come in handy here at Hawkeye." Leah began while looking at Zandusky.

"As far as the locals know she is one of them, so she can infiltrate them and get information right from the source." Leah replied looking at him. Naomi nodded, "My last run went closer to where the Eternal Light is located without getting to close yet but I am not reading hardly any activity yet. Which is unusual but at the same time worrisome to say the least." Naomi added.

Alexander nodded at Lieutenant Morgan, he'd read her personnel file. Hell, he'd read everyone's file, even the generals. It was a fine gathering of officers on this base, which made him realize how serious Starfleet, and Sevlek, was about the base functioning in tip-top shape. "I'm sure you know already, but I'm going to say it anyway: be careful with how close you get, they've no doubt got their own telepaths and empaths that are just waiting to suss you out."

"I know, and I can block them out and replace them with that of their own species." Naomi replied, "My abilities can become dangerous though if I lose control though, that hasn't happened in a very long time as I have learned to control that part." Naomi replied looking at Alexander.

"I see." Zandusky paused as his mind found another track to follow. He looked from Leah to Morgan as he said, "It would be advantageous to also include the members of the government that we know are anti-Starfleet in our surveillance efforts as well."

"Already been on that as well," Naomi replied. "At least on my end, I am sure I could use some help as well." Naomi replied with a smile.

Alexander figured as much, but sometimes, even the most common things needed to be said out loud, "Good." He turned to the general, "Is there anything else, ma'am?"

"No not at this time anyways," Leah replied looking at both of them. "Your dismissed." She replied as she watched them both leave her office. She sat down with a sigh as she wondered what she was up against and it didn't sound very good.
