Posted on Thu May 28th, 2020 @ 7:53am by Brigadier General Leah Katana & Brigadier General Adam Stone

Mission: Mission One: A New Beginning...(Backstory)
Location: Beach Front Restaurant
Timeline: Back Post to before "Staff Meeting"

After changing clothes, she needed to get out of uniform and into something more refreshing. "Hurry up my love, were gonna be late." Katana said as she exited the bedroom to make sure Jr was dressed.

"And just how pray tell," Adam commented as he finished buttoning his shirt, "are we going to be late when we don't have a reservation honey?"

Leah laughed, "cause I said so." She said as she walked up to him and kissed him. She was wearing the dress that Adam gave her last year when he came home for the holiday back on Bajor. Her hair was done all pretty and she smiled at him.

"Oh no, that only works on duty mon general." He teased. "We're off the clock. 'Cause I said so' doesn't work at home."

"Nope works at home to," She said as she kissed him with a smile.

Adam chuckled and shook his head after returning the kiss. "Whatever you say dear. Let's go, I'm hungry and someone's arrival made me miss lunch." He teased.

"Good," Leah teased back as they walked out of there apartment and headed to the Beach Front Restaurant. "So what do you think of Hawkeye Island?" Leah asked as they walked.

"Personally or professionally?" He queried, holding his son's calves as the boy rode on his shoulders.

She looked at him, "Both?" she asked as they walked.

"Its a scenic locale." He said with a slight shrug. "Base has only had a skeleton crew for awhile, not enough to keep up with everything. A good chunk of the base is in rough shape, it's gonna take some time to get things up and running all the way."

She nodded as they finally arrived at the restaurant and entered, they were quickly seated at the best table in the house. "Beautiful," Leah said as she looked around the room.

"Mhm." He agreed, though the wheels in his mind were turning.

Best table in the house? Did they luck out or did someone know who Leah was? If they did, was that good or bad? If it was bad did that mean Eternal Light had already infiltrated the base and had operatives working as civilian contractors? He was getting alot of questions and damn few answers. He'd have to talk to base security and his own Intelligence section to start getting some of those answers.

She looked at Adam, "Ok what's bothering you?" She said as she knew something was on his mind as they ordered their dinner.

"Mind's working overtime." He said by way of apology. "Us getting the best table in the house a coincidence or does someone know more about who we are than they ought to? That question started a whole slew of security related questions to bouncing around in my head."

Leah couldn't help but laugh, "Oh the thoughts that go through your mind, though they are good and glad that your worried." Leah replied with a smile, "I actually called ahead and reserved the best spot in the house." She smiled looking at him.

"Or have you forgotten what today is my dear," She said with a smile leaning over kissing him on the cheek, it's been a good 10 years they have been married and hopefully will be for many more.

"With everything thats been going on here this week, you're lucky I remembered to meet you two at the landing pad." Adam admitted. "What did I forget?"

"It's alright love, today is our tenth wedding anniversary," She said with a smile as Jr cheered 'yay'.

"Well," Adam said with a wry chuckle, "don't I feel like an ass."

She kissed him, "it's alright my love," she said with a smile as the waitress brought there food out which happened to be Adam's favorite meal. She had pre-ordered it luckily they knew what she was wanting and it was an easy make. They spent a good while at the restaurant, then walked on the beach before heading home and calling it a night.
